Abutaleb, a cofounder of UltiSat is a seasoned executive who has been involved in various segments of the telecommunications industry since 1977. During these years, he has participated in and managed the definition, development, and implementation of numerous satellite and wireless communications networks and products. In addition, he has held senior management positions with leaders in the satellite communications and aerospace industries. Abutaleb cofounded Innovative Communications Technologies, Inc. (ICTI) in 1989. As president of ICTI, he managed the systematic and progressive growth of this self-financed start-up,including the sale of ICTI to a publicly traded corporation in 1999. Abutaleb is a coauthor on several patents and holds a MSEE degree, with emphasis in communications and microelectronics.
Michael Pollack has almost 20 years experience in both satellite communications engineering and business development. Pollack most recently served as vice president for government sales at Advantech Satellite Networks, where he was responsible for business development, sales, and technical marketing activities. Prior to that, Pollack spent more than a decade at Hughes (formerly Hughes Network Systems) where he had responsibility for growing business in the US government sector worldwide. In addition, Pollack has similar roles in development business and sales opportunities in the countries of the former Soviet Union and in Latin America. holds a BSEE and MSEE.
David Megel, a cofounder of UltiSat, has been involved in the data communications industry since 1983. During these years, he has been primarily involved with satellite and telephony communications networks, specializing in voice, video, and data communications applications. He also has significant experience in the design and application of mobile satellite services and products. Megel was also a cofounder of ICTI and administered its internal operations, through the sale of that business in 1999. He is a coauthor on several patents and holds a MSEE degree, with emphasis in data communications protocols and their performance in telecommunications networks.
Jim Crichton, a cofounder of UltiSat, has been involved in the data communications industry since 1982. During these years, he has been active in system level and detailed design of hardware and hardware/software systems. His experience includes DSP and microprocessor based software architecture and implementation, ASIC and board level hardware design and integration. Crichton joined Abutaleb and Megel at ICTI in 1993 as vice president of engineering and held that position through the sale of that business in 1999. He is a also a coauthor on several patents and holds an MSCS degree.
Tom Rossomondo joined UltiSat in April 2008, bringing nearly 20 years of experience in both financial and tax management. Before joining UltiSat, Rossomondo served as vice president and chief financial officer for International Jet Management (IJM), a private jet aviation firm located at Dulles International Airport. Prior to that Rossomondo was with the Canam Steel Corporation, one of the largest steel fabrication companies in North America as assistant controller and director of tax. Rossomondo is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) as well as the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants (MACPA).
