Master station controller (MSC) products provide a cost-effective means for monitoring and control of single thread VSAT or midsized earth stations. Each MSC product has the responsibility for overall control of VSAT earth station equipment, employing single thread or redundant block up converters (BUCs), low-noise block converters (LNBs), and satellite modems of the SCPC or TDM/TDMA variety. The MSC can monitor the status of each component and create a switchover to a hot-standby component when a fault condition is present on the primary component.
